When a local artist wanted to build a private studio for the creation of his works, he turned to Cheltenham’s Hi-Tech Windows and their conservatory roof supplier, Prefix Systems to create something a little unique.
The hipped corner conservatory was designed by Hi-Tech Windows and together with the owner of the property, they wanted to create a private studio in a colour that would be sympathetic to the main house. Chartwell Green was chosen to make a feature for the stone built property and high performance roof glass was incorporated in the specification, to help bring much needed light into the working environment.
Prefix Systems supplied the foiled conservatory roof which also featured foiled end caps, ridge cap, muntin bars, bolster bar caps, internal claddings and the roof vent was also supplied in a matching finish. Hi-Tech Windows were also readily able to source matching Chartwell Green windows and a pair of French Doors.
Hi-Tech Windows was established in 1985 and has built an impressive reputation for customer service, a broad product range and has over 36,000 satisfied customers in their local area. Coloured conservatories are becoming ever more popular for the Gloucestershire based company, along with the emerging replacement conservatory sector.
Prefix Systems are unique as a conservatory roof fabricator in that the company offers 9 laminated colours from stock including white, fir green, grey, ebony black, cream, Irish Oak, rosewood, golden oak and Chartwell Green along with a stunning and unique cast iron effect gutter. The company also has its own in house painting facility, that’s capable of producing components of any recognised RAL colour.
Thanks to Ultraframe’s chambered top cappings, there’s also no need for any aluminium hip caps which have been used by other systems companies to address the problem of warping. Since the launch of the product there have been no performance issues on white and laminated cappings, even on South facing installations.
Chris Baron co-director of Prefix Systems comments: “This is yet another example of what can be done in colour with our foiled caps and internal trims and covers. Installers should be looking at the growing trends for replacement conservatories and for colours, it’s a noticeable shift in the market. We also believe that we can laminate more components than anyone on a finished installation.”
