Deceuninck trade and consumer fabricator Ryburne Windows has recently completed a fascinating window and door installation in south west London: an architect- and interior-designed family home on one of Putney’s most prestigious roads. The project demonstrated Ryburne Windows’ awareness of the latest trends and ability to design solutions that meet them.
The property’s developer, Brian Hoban, came to Ryburne Windows after seeing an advert from the company featuring the Deceuninck Autentica range of decorative glazing profiles. He wanted the front elevation of his development to have a traditional Georgian appearance and thought that Autentica might provide the solution and provide a stunning contrast with his plans for a modern, sleek rear elevation. He contacted Ryburne Windows and discussed his project with Peter Willemse, Ryburne Managing Director.
After a few phone and email discussions about the possibilities with Peter, Brian arranged a visit to the Ryburne retail showroom which was opened last year to showcase the company’s products. Brian was so impressed by what Ryburne could offer, he left having placed an order for all the windows and doors on the project, including one genuinely cutting edge solution.
The house’s front elevation used Deceuninck vertical sliders in white PVC-u. The rear elevation is fitted with tilt and turn windows in Traffic Grey using Autentica detailing. The project’s centre piece is the patio door, a Deceuninck Monorail Sliding Patio, which is specified with heavy duty interlock. The project was one of the first in the country to use the stunning and recently upgraded solution which has been designed specifically for installations such as this one. Just two panes were needed for an opening of 3600mm x 2250mm, something that simply can’t be achieved using conventional sliders, but was possible thanks to the profiles which have been designed to allow much larger than normal configurations.
Deceuninck undertook the early stages of the Monorail’s manufacture before sending it to Ryburne for finishing and final assembly. Installation of all the windows and doors went smoothly with the Ryburne installers liaising with the project’s other contractors to ensure the project was completed successfully.
The results are truly stunning: the house’s traditionally elegant front elevation contrasts perfectly with the cutting edge rear elevation, with the Monorail Sliding Patio the jewel in the project’s crown.
Both Brian and Peter are delighted with the project, with Peter commenting, “The Deceuninck Monorail Sliding Patio Door is a quality product that we’re proud to be able to offer. This project made good use of it and we’re proud to have worked on such a high quality installation.”
