Demand hots up for Hurst Doors

A huge surge in demand from the housing association sector and the domestic market alike has led Hurst Plastics to manufacture more composite doors and composite fire doors than ever before.

The company has seen a marked increase in demand from the market as landlords come under pressure to meet more stringent regulations in line with the Better Homes standard. Demand has also grown among domestic users as they become more aware of the benefits that composite doors bring to their homes.

Hurst has responded to the demand by investing further in its composite fire door and expanding the range to include new designs. A significant investment by the company into additional testing on the fire door has meant that Hurst has been able to strengthen its range, with much of the standard door collection now able to meet fire door specification.

Samantha Kerr, Hurst Plastics’ Marketing Manager, comments: “We are delighted that our range has been so popular and we are proud to be leading the industry with innovative products that satisfy the exacting demands of the marketplace. Our collection of doors means that the market does not have to make a choice between style, security and convenience. We have manufactured in excess of 1,000 composite fire doors in the last year and our forecasts are strong for the next 12 months, clearly showing that the market is eager for a top class fire door with absolutely no compromises.”

The company’s flagship composite door offers the very highest in security and weather performance, combined with a realistic lead time and a simple pricing structure. It has been tremendously popular amongst both social housing developers and private homeowners since its launch a few years ago.

The Hurst composite fire door enjoys all the benefits of Hurst’s standard composite door and is one of the most comprehensive ranges available in the market today. The door is completely indistinguishable from Hurst’s standard composite range and, like the standard composite door, it provides trusted performance, great aesthetics and low maintenance.

Surpassing many competitor’s offerings, the fire door is available in a wide selection of styles, including the new dual glazed and six panel twin top designs, and a choice of five attractive colours - white, red, blue, green and black. The fire door also offers the very highest in security and weather performance plus a full half hour fire rating (30 minutes stability and 30 minutes integrity). It is supplied pre-fitted as a door set in a Eurocell series 70 outer frame with Yale multi point locking system and choice of Yale ironmongery. The range of door furniture has also been extended and features a selection of escape options, which includes panic bars.
