Dekko Window Systems Ltd is celebrating its third anniversary after being set up by industry names Gary Torr and Kurt Greatrex in 2008. Since then the company has gone from Ӓength to strength and now manufactures 1000 frames a week. Director, Kurt Greatrex says, “We’ve been committed to the quality of our products and to meeting the needs of our customers since day one. We’re delighted that these commitments are being so well-received.”
Dekko Window Systems is a Deceuninck fabricator and manufactures the 2800 decorative and 2500 chamfered systems in its 28,000 square feet factory and office complex just off the M60 at Bredbury. Kurt says, “Being a Deceuninck fabricator plays a big part in our success because customers recognise what the Deceuninck name means. Deceuninck is renowned for its quality and we’re proud to be associated with that quality.”
The Deceuninck quality is matched by Dekko’s quality and attention to detail. The company’s products are Kitemark 7412 and ISO 9002 accredited and have just been awarded Secured by Design status.
But it’s not just the products that have contributed to Dekko’s success. It’s the customer service and attitude to customers that make the difference. Kurt explains, “We genuinely put our customer at the heart of our decision-making. If something doesn’t have a genuine benefit to our customers, it’s not worth doing. That’s what we said when we founded the company and that’s what we say now.”
So if Dekko’s attitude to quality and its customers hasn’t changed, what has? Kurt reports big changes in the industry’s attitude to colour since 2008, something he’s well-placed to notice because Dekko offers products using the Deceuninck unique Decoroc colour system. While colour, particularly anthracite grey, remains consistently popular in commercial settings, colour in domestic settings is really taking off. “We’re seeing more and more requests for colour in the consumer sector, especially black and cream. Consumers are really starting to recognise that colour has got the wow factor.”
Dekko’s commitment to quality and to its customers means that its success was perhaps only to be expected. With manufacturing having increased from a standing start to 1000 frames a week in just three years suggests that Dekko is set to become one of the industry’s best-established names. All of which means that Dekko’s principals will be able to provide informed comment on the industry and its trends for many years to come!
