Windowmaker (NE) Ltd has recently signed with leading systems supplier Deceuninck and now manufactures the 2500 chamfered window suite from the company’s fabrication site in Stockton-on-Tees. Having made the decision to work with Deceuninck at the end of 2010, Windowmaker commenced fabrication with the systems house during the first week of January 2011.
Windowmaker made the decision to switch suppliers for several very strong reasons. Firstly, Deceuninck offered twice weekly deliveries to the North East, something its previous supplier couldn’t. Having twice weekly deliveries would make a huge difference to Windowmaker’s ability to schedule and plan efficiently, as well as meaning it could react to urgent orders rather than having to wait up to a week for the next delivery. Not only that, lead times on Deceuninck foiled products were faster than their previous supplier, helping to make Windowmaker a more attractive proposition to potential customers. Finally, a crucial factor in the decision was quite simply that Tony and the rest of the Windowmaker team were extremely impressed by Deceuninck “can-do” attitude and attention to detail, making them a professional and efficient partner.
This professionalism and efficiency was evident right from the start, as Director Tony Randall explains, “Changing profile supplier is a big decision to take and the actual switchover process is always daunting. But Deceuninck made it very straightforward and worked very hard behind the scenes to ensure we had no loss in production – we were able to manufacture our first Deceuninck window in the first week of January, exactly as we’d planned.”
Four months into the partnership, it is now time for the Windowmaker team to assess the results of its decision to switch partners. Windowmaker work closely with James Robinson from Deceuninck, who they had worked with before, and the relationship they have with him and the rest of the team is excellent. As Tony says, “The communication from Deceuninck is just great – we know where we are at all times and we never have to chase for answers. Plus deliveries arrive exactly as and when promised, so we know we can rely on them.” Other benefits include the brand recognition that Deceuninck has. Tony says, “It’s a high quality brand and our customers recognise this.”
Windowmaker fabricates around 200 windows a week and supports the trade, retail and DIY markets in the North East from its base in Stockton-on-Tees. The company has big plans for expansion and with Deceuninck as its fabrication partner Tony feels the company is well equipped for success. “Because our fabrication partner is so efficient, we can be more efficient too. In Deceuninck we feel we have a supplier that is capable of supporting us and helping us to achieve our aims.”
