The first Retro-Fix system for the replacement conservatory market has now been installed, enabling the homeowner to upgrade what was a tired looking polycarbonate roof into a new high performance glass one.
Designed by Prefix Systems, Retro-Fix is an engineered solution specifically designed for the replacement conservatory market, estimated at 3million installations. The project from start to finish took just 2 days and included the replacement of a worn tilt and slide patio door, with a new high performance bi-folding door.
For many people, older conservatories are cold and damp in winter and show up the discoloured polycarbonate panels during the summer months under sunlight. What was once a highly desirable extension to these homes can now be seen as an eyesore. Retro-fix is a great solution for homeowners looking to benefit from an all year round extension to the home that also looks impressive and it’s also a good investment for people looking to sell their house.
Chris Baron and Chris Cooke co-directors of Prefix were onsite to oversee the first project and were delighted with the end result. They commented: “Retro-fix was quick and easy to install and looks part of the overall installation. We’re delighted to be able to carry out this conservatory facelift and believe there’s a large market to go after. Our customers now feel that we’ve given them a real competitive advantage.”
