CMS Enviro Systems Ltd, based in Scotland, recently won a large contract with Fife Council to supply A energy rated PVC-U windows with EcoClear+ sealed units from Solaglas. The contract is for three years and worth £7 million. Fife Council, one of Scotland’s largest Councils, is the first to specify A rated windows on a replacement contract, recognising the payback to tenants of installing top energy rated windows.
CMS will supply A rated windows to over 2,500 council properties and the contract includes recycling all the old windows. Managing Director Andrew Kerr comments: “This was a European-wide tender so there was lots of competition, but we won on the merit of being able to meet the tight specifications of the Council.
“Fife Council wanted to break their traditional C rated window specification but not all window manufacturers offer A rated windows,” continues Andrew. “With EcoClear+ sealed units, it’s easy and most importantly, cost effective to supply top performing energy efficient windows. We now offer A energy rated windows as standard, and as this contract win shows, it puts us in a competitive lead over other manufacturers.”
