Hurst Plastics ‘delighted’ with new composite door software

Sales and Marketing Director Mark Atkinson

Leading composite door manufacturers Hurst Plastics are the latest convert to First Degree Systems revolutionary Composite Door software.

Hurst Plastic’s turned to First Degree Systems software to enhance their design and order processing and as Sales and Marketing Director Mark Atkinson explains, they have been ‘delighted’ with the results.

“As soon as the Composite Door Designer software was installed we could immediately see the benefits” comments Mark. “The superb graphics allows us to see exactly what we are manufacturing on screen, while the documentation produced is very clear, which has been invaluable to our admin department.”

Composite Door Designer is a fully integrated presentation and manufacturing module designed to make manufacturing, ordering and selling composite doors even easier. The impressive 3D imagery allows the user to design a composite door onscreen so they can visualise the end product. While this is being designed, the manufacturing instructions are calculated in the background ready to be transferred to the factory floor while same data is used to produce documentation such as order forms and quotes. “By using the same data throughout the whole process, you do not have to re-enter any information. This eliminates the possibility of mistakes occurring and means jobs can be completed quicker” Mark comments.

Because the Composite Door module can also form part of the Window Designer for the Web software, another major advantage is that the system can be accessed at any time from a computer with web access. Alan Bark, First Degree’s Operations Manager explains “the advantage of an online system is it gives the user much greater flexibility. Now users can work remotely, even setting up jobs up at home in the evening so they are well prepared the following morning.”

Hurst Plastics are so impressed with the system they already have plans to further extend its capabilities. “We plan to make the software available to our customers in the future to help them convert more sales and give them the tools for growth” says Mark. “Our customers would not only benefit from the online ordering facilities, but the impressive graphics means they can also use the software to demonstrate their doors to prospective customers, helping them clinch more sales.”

Alan Bark, First Degree’s Operations Manager concludes “I am delighted Hurst Plastics has found the software so useful and it has made everything from design to order processing much simpler. I would urge any composite door fabricators who don’t currently use the system to get in touch and find out how we can help them in a similar way.”
