Excalibur shootbolt system

Tradelink, the leading Cambridgeshire-based trade fabricator, has chosen Kenrick to supply its patented Excalibur shootbolt system. Excalibur has added to the first rate security features of Tradelink’s popular Rehau S706 70mm chamfered frame.

Having reviewed several systems from a number of well known hardware suppliers, Tradelink opted for the Excalibur shootbolt from Kenrick. The system was chosen because it benefits from the latest reverse drive cam-locking technology and has achieved excellent results in enhanced security tests. Tradelink was also impressed with the entire range of high quality and innovative products supplied by Kenrick as well as the company’s proven supply chain.

Tradelink is also using the Kenrick Espagnolette and anti-jemmy hinge protectors to provide high security on other window frames.

The Excalibur shootbolt system is Secured by Design approved and one of many proven BBA certified window locking systems that Kenrick manufactures. Excalibur offers top class security features, yet is simple to install. Durable and reliable, it’s a multi-point locking system that benefits from a robust unhanded die-cast gearbox and bi-directional die-cast claws. It also fits all Eurogroove systems, making it a very flexible option for many different systems and applications.

Tradelink, which employs 180 staff and manufactures in excess of 2,500 PVC-u frames a week, has projected that it will use more than 150,000 Excalibur shootbolts a year.

Jim Moody, Tradelink’s managing director, says: “As one of the industry’s largest fabricators, we are constantly striving to offer the highest levels of quality, service and security to our customers. Our alliance with Kenrick means that householders can now benefit from top of the range windows and hardware, backed by our comprehensive security guarantee to give them total peace of mind. Kenrick has a good portfolio of products, a fast and reliable service and flexible approach and we’re confident that our partnership with them will continue long into the future.”

Tradelink is a trade fabricator with 16 years’ experience in supplying windows, doors and conservatories. The company has developed a one stop shop, supplying everything installers want and need. It was one of the original advocates of the commercial benefits of selling energy rated windows and the first in the UK to register a double glazed ‘A’ rated window with the BFRC. It launched a B rated window as standard in 2009. Tradelink practices World Class Manufacturing principles throughout the entire business to ensure its customers receive the best possible products and service, both efficiently and cost effectively.

Kenrick is a leading supplier of hardware solutions for PVCu, aluminium and timber window and door systems. The company has a proud heritage spanning more than 200 years, having been established by Archibald Kenrick who manufactured buckles and livery fittings. Kenrick’s range of top quality products includes the market leading Excalibur multi-point locking system and the four-point Centurion system. The Easi-Fit and Espagnolette locking systems are extremely cost effective and easy to install.

Archibald Kenrick

Archibald Kenrick & Sons Ltd was founded in West Bromwich in the Black Country in 1791 and has occupied the same site ever since. During the Industrial Revolution, the business became one of the country’s foremost cast iron manufacturers, something which continued for over 150 years. In the late 1940s, technological advances meant that Kenrick modernised rapidly, introducing new manufacturing techniques such as die-casting and injection moulding. Similar but evolved techniques are still used by Kenrick today.

Kenrick currently offers a variety of products for the furniture, door and window industries including castors, locking systems, handles and hinges. The majority of these products are either made on site in West Bromwich or at their overseas factories to a high standard. The design and innovation is carried out by Kenrick’s own experienced team.

In 1990, Kenrick became part of the Spire Group. It remains committed to investing in research and development, modern production techniques, new product launches and plans significant expansion over the coming years
