Glazerite Windows become the first UK company to invest in Haffner GB Ltd’s latest innovation

Haffner GB Ltd only introduced the UK market to the vertical slider feature on its best selling SBA machining centre a few weeks ago. It was clear that the feature, which automatically cuts and preps vertical sliders, would have a big impact. It’s had an immediate impact too – Haffner has already sold the first centre to include the new unit to Network VEKA fabricator, Glazerite Windows Ltd.

Glazerite’s investment in the machine means that the company will be operating two SBA cutting centres at its Wellingborough headquarters. Jason Thompson, Director at Glazerite, was clear about the benefits it would bring. “Our existing Haffner SBA centre has proved its worth time and time again with over 2.5 million pieces being cut and prepped since the machine was installed in May 2004. Thanks to our policy of continuous investment in the business, we have seen considerable growth recently. Our investment in a second machine will allow us to consolidate that growth and make further gains.”

He added, “The machine will also help us to maintain our reputation for quality and innovation. We were the first Network VEKA fabricator to introduce a white woodgrain effect vertical slider option in our Origin series. We are now the first fabricator to bring the reassurance of automated quality to vertical sliders. We’re delighted to be at the forefront of new technology in this way.”

The vertical slider unit can be retro-fitted to SBA machines that are already in use as well as fitted to new machines, giving existing customers the ability to add considerable value to their production process too. The feature uses a variable angle saw blade to cut and prep sash windows. Intelligent design means the saw and the gripper unit work together, so the centre will fabricate vertical sliders at the same speed as any other, less complicated window system.

The investment by Glazerite in a second SBA centre and vertical slider feature can only be seen as a vote of confidence in the machine’s ability to add value to a business. But with innovations such as the vertical slider being introduced, its credentials were never really in doubt.
