One of Wales and the South West’s leading independent insulated glass manufacturers, Cwmtillery Glass Centre (CGC) has recently made a substantial investment in Bystronic Glass equipment which will place them ahead of competitors.
In a contract worth over £½ million, CGC has purchased the latest in advanced cutting and sealing technology from Bystronic Glass as part of a major expansion phase. The company which was established over 12 years ago has expanded and diversified in order to increase productivity and improve efficiency.
More than £1.5 million has been invested in the project so far with a new extension having been built specifically to accommodate the Bystronic equipment and new toughening plant.
CGC based in South Wales supplies soft coated sealed units primarily to the domestic market. The company has established a strong reputation for quality and reliability and with a flexible approach places a huge emphasis on customer satisfaction. The investment incorporates various products from the Bystronic range including a fully automatic cutting line and sealing robot.
The new equipment has already led to improved performance at the company by increasing output to approximately 10,000 sealed units per week with an expected increase to over 17,000 units per week over the coming months.
Management at CGC considered expansion and technical investment of vital importance because of new market regulations and to cope with increased orders. Bystronic Glass products were chosen after careful consideration as the installation was seen as an investment in the future growth and corporate position of CGC.
