Bystronic Glass gives K Seal Glass a leading edge

A recent investment in equipment from Bystronic Glass UK is set to further raise the corporate profile of K Seal Glass, based in the North West of England. In a contract worth £300,000 the investment will ensure the company maintains its leading market position.

The focus of the new installation at K Seal includes a vertical arrissing system which will help to fully automate production methods and increase efficiency. K Seal is a leading manufacturer of glass products for both the commercial and domestic markets with a diverse range of glass solutions.

With a product range that comprises various types of coated glasses including Enviroglas, Kolorglas and PartitionGlas senior management at the company considered it vital to invest in state-of-the-art equipment from Bystronic as manual handling is completely eliminated.

Stephen Woolley, Managing Director, K Seal Glass comments, “Because of the assortment of products that we manufacture, we needed equipment that can handle shapes. The Bystronic arrissing line is extremely user friendly as it constantly calibrates itself through the shape recognition programme. Whatever comes down the line is automatically recognised, which will make our production methods much more efficient.”

K Seal has achieved year on year growth since being established in 1994 as the main manufacturer of glass and toughened safety glass in the North West. Quality, high performance production standards and customer satisfaction remain a priority for the company. With industry regulations and market sectors rapidly changing in relation to glass and glass products, investment in modern, reliable equipment was imperative.

Whilst other high profile insulated glass processing manufacturing companies from around the UK were considered, Stephen Woolley felt the Bystronic equipment provided the most efficient and cost-effective solution for the company’s needs.

Stephen Woolley comments, “The capabilities of the arrissing line suits the dynamics of this company and our business plan. Bystronic clearly defined the key benefits and we believe that the equipment is the best on the market. The company has a progressive approach and we intend to remain at the forefront of the industry.”

Since the year 2000 K Seal has made substantial investments in the plant as well as modern equipment to ensure that the manufacturing facilities are fully automated in order to accommodate the new industry regulations. Having been accredited with BS 5713 ISO 9002 and BS EN 1279, it was crucial that any new machinery introduced at K Seal would accommodate current and future legislative requirements.

Stephen Woolley continues, “Production at K Seal will increase considerably and product diversification will inevitably follow. The Bystronic Glass reputation is first class and innovative designs will ensure that we maintain a leading market position. It is crucial to provide our customers with only the highest quality products and we believe that our reputation will be further enhanced by our association with the Bystronic brand.

Brian McDonald, Sales Manager, Bystronic Glass UK comments, “We consider we provide superior products and services which we believe reflects our corporate philosophy of working alongside customers to ensure they achieve their targets. We have developed a strong working relationship with K Seal Glass and feel confident about the new installation programme.”
