A glorious day in the first week of September saw WHS Halo taking a swing at, or rather with, 100 of its customers at the company’s annual golf day. Of the 100 guests, 72 were golfers who enjoyed a four-ball game over the Arden Championship Course at the Forest of Arden Hotel and Country Club.
The day started out with breakfast, and a swift practice 9 for those looking to get their eye in; before an early lunch and the first tee-off taking place at 12.20. As might be expected for the industry, games were played in a highly-competitive, albeit good natured, spirit with seven prizes awarded. The competition winners were:
Overall winner: Peter Hewitt, NAC Plastics Ltd
2nd: David Wanless, Radley PVCU Ltd
3rd: Neil Stinger, Yorkshire Windows
Best Par 3: Paul Richings, SWC Trade Frames Ltd
Best Par 5: Gary Wanless, Radley PVCU Ltd
Longest Drive: Sean Butler, Buckingham Double Glazing
Nearest Pin: Conor O'Kelly, National Profiles
The evening saw guests assemble for dinner where prizes were awarded following a screening of a specially compiled highlights video of the day’s play. The evening was capped with a riotous performance from top comic and three-time After Dinner Speaker of the Year winner Tony Jo.
The whole event was a great success and as Sam Kennedy, WHS Halo’s Consumer Sales & Marketing Director, says, “It has been our best and most successful golf day ever. A great time was had by all and we've had many plaudits from those who attended about the thoroughly enjoyable day”.
