AMI has published the programme for the 6th edition of its Polymer Foam conference, which will take place on 28-29 November 2018 at the Marriott Hotel, Hamburg, Germany.
The conference will cover a wide variety of markets and applications for foamed plastics, plus the broad range of processes and technologies that can be used to create and shape these materials. In addition, it will address important developments in resins and blowing agents designed to further improve the economic, performance and environmental benefits of foams.
This year’s packed programme features 21 industry experts from across Europe and beyond. The opening address will be given by Emanuel van der Ven, Global Technology Leader at Sabic, who will introduce new generation building blocks to help the construction and automotive industries to address their key challenges.
Also featured on the comprehensive programme are the following: major polymer producers, such as Borealis and Covestro; leading additives producers, including Budenheim, Sanitized and Greenchemicals; and innovative process technology companies, like Trexel, Linde, Akzo Nobel, Sulzer and Promix Solutions. We will also discuss bio-based and renewable materials, presented by Strasburg University, Silvateam and Polybridge.
The use of foam technology is increasing rapidly across all fields of plastics processing to provide beneficial properties such as weight and cost reduction, heat and sound insulation, and cushioning and impact resistance. Applications are growing in many markets including construction, infrastructure, packaging, furniture, transportation and energy generation.
This growth is being helped by innovations in materials and additives for polymer foams, including developments focused on creating beneficial properties through improved cellular structures.
Polymer Foam 2018 will be an excellent forum to learn about these exciting developments. It will also provide plenty of networking opportunities for product designers, plastics processors and foam specialists, both from industry and from research institutes.
