Danny Barnett of Solidor wins G17 Unsung Hero Award

Danny Barnett, Logistics Manager from Solidor

Danny Barnett, Logistics Manager at Solidor, was the deserving winner of the Unsung Hero category at the G17 Awards in November. The premium timber-core door manufacturer has transformed its manufacturing and facilities in the past two years to deliver outstanding OTIF and service rates, and Danny’s contribution has been invaluable. Danny became Solidor’s Logistics Manager in September 2015, and has worked hard to develop the department into an efficient and rewarding place to work.

Mike Price, Group Operations Director, was the first to congratulate Danny. “He has really found his niche,” says Mike. “If there’s a problem he and the team just get on with solving it – no drama, just a quick and practical solution. He’s improved the operation of the department, with high quality monthly reports, motivational schemes to encourage the team to recognise ways they can improve performance, and a re-organisation of the despatch area. He has helped oversee OTIF (On Time In Full) deliveries, which have risen from 95% in 2015 to this year’s 99.9%-100% in recent months. We’re all celebrating his success!”
