National Glass Group (NGG) has once again expanded its membership, now to six companies, with the introduction of Nova Group, based in Cheshire. Nova Group Limited, with a turnover of over £12 million pounds and founded in 1971, is an established IGU manufacturer in the North West.
With this latest addition, the NGG now has a collective turnover in excess of £70 million pounds, and yet all members retain the agility and personal attention from being owner managed independent businesses.
NGG is a group that represents the leading glass processors in the UK, including existing members Clayton Glass, Custom Glass and Northern Express Glass, Romag and Supaseal Glass and is the only organisation of its kind in the UK. With a combined turnover of over £70million and annual purchasing exceeding £20million, it also makes for the largest independent buyer of sheet glass in the UK.
Beyond the purchasing power of the group, NGG also promotes best practice and shares the value created fairly among members. In time the goal is to build the group up, so that it represents 25% of flat glass purchases in the UK, through organic growth of the members and with the introduction of new companies to the organisation.
Jeff Hooson, co-director of NGG commented: ‘We’re delighted to welcome Nova Group to the group, whom will benefit from our purchasing power, but also shared practices, as members look to improve business operations. Since our inception 3 years ago, we’ve added considerable value to members and we expect the expansion to continue further in the coming year as we enter the next phase of our strategic development. This will be through increased collaboration to bring the broadest product range and geographical reach available in the UK, while equally retaining the identity and benefits of being owner managed, independent businesses.
