SafeGuard joins the BWF’s Wood Window Alliance

With quality a prerequisite in everything they do, and as longstanding suppliers to a number of the nation’s foremost high performance wooden window manufacturers, it’s no surprise that SafeGuard has become a Supplier Member of the British Woodworking Federation’s Wood Window Alliance.

“At SafeGuard, our commitment to quality is at the heart of what we do,” explains Nick Welsh, Managing Director of SafeGuard. “We appreciate though, these claims need to be substantiated – which is why we are delighted to announce we are now listed as a supplier to members of the Wood Window Alliance (WWA). Established in 2007 by a group of leading manufacturers supplying timber-based windows and doors in the UK and Ireland, the WWA promotes the advantages of timber, modified timber and aluminium-clad timber windows and doors, sets industry standards for high quality timber-based windows and doors, and offers the reassurance of a quality benchmark for wood window and door performance, service life and sustainability.

“As a condition of membership, manufacturers must meet independently certified quality, performance, and sustainability criteria. This means, as a supplier to these members, our products need to match these stringent criteria too. As longstanding active members of the Glass and Glazing Federation, we believe in the importance of being part of industry-recognised bodies that promote best practise in manufacturing and quality. We are proud of what we do and believe the fact we can now supply members of the WWA is testament to our product offering.”

Wood Window Alliance manufacturers and their suppliers commit to a high standard of quality and performance of materials and components used in window manufacture and installation. This commitment is supported by: independent testing to European Standards (BS EN 942, timber; BS 644: 2009, timber beads; BS EN 927-1, paints and varnishes; BS EN 599, preservative treatments); conformance declarations; third-party UK accreditation schemes such as: TRADA Q-Mark, BSI, TWAS, FENSA or recognised European accreditation schemes; and Chain of Custody certification.
