VEKA trade fabricator Consort has just announced that all its residential doors will be supplied with Trojan’s stainless steel door hardware. Jeff Dunn, Head of Sales and Marketing at Consort, said: “Our industry has experienced a noticeable increase in the volume of door hardware that is pitting and corroding. This can cause much irritation to the homeowner resulting in a remedial visit for the installer. Stainless steel hardware is not affected in this way, which is why Consort will be using Trojan’s stainless steel door hardware on all residential doors from 6th March 2017.
As well as helping to reduce callouts, the decision to switch to stainless steel hardware will give Consort installers an additional USP at the point of sale. Jeff said: “The anti-corrosion benefits of stainless steel gives homeowners added reassurance that they are investing in a high-quality product for their home.”
Consort’s decision to switch to stainless steel across all residential door ranges follows on from the decision to move to stainless steel hardware on their Magnum composite doors, which the company did in July 2015. Jeff commented: “The decision to move to Trojan’s TS007-compliant 2 Star high security stainless steel hardware on our Magnum composite doors was well-received by our customers and drastically reduced remedial visits. Having this evidence made the decision to introduce stainless steel across all door ranges a simple one. Although stainless steel is more expensive than standard hardware Consort believes that the long-term benefits negate the extra cost to the fabricator.”
Consort residential doors will use the Trojan Group’s Sparta stainless steel chrome and gold handles and Trojan’ stainless steel letterplates, door knockers, door numbers/letters and escutcheons. As an indication of the quality and reliability of the range, every product in Trojan’s stainless steel range comes with a 25 year anti-corrosion guarantee and a ten year mechanical guarantee. Black and white hardware, which has not been an issue, will remain powder coated.
Long established and incorporated in 1996, Consort is one of the largest and longest established manufacturers of PVC-u window and door systems, patio doors, porches and conservatories in the UK. In its decision to upgrade to stainless steel hardware across all its door ranges to provide added value to its customers, Consort is demonstrating the quality of the company and its products.
