Customade shakes industry with REAL Aluminium workshops


The REAL Customer Day

More than 65 REAL Aluminium installation firms have seen their aluminium sales go through the roof after switching to Customade’s REAL Aluminium range and attending a comprehensive one day customer workshop.

The REAL Customer Day is the latest advance from Customade under its ‘REAL Aluminium’ offering, which equips the installer with all the tools they need to promote and sell the most extensive range aluminium windows, doors and lantern roofs available from a single supplier. The workshops have de-mystified the process of promoting, quoting, selling and ordering aluminium and helped installers to increase their aluminium sales by an average of 281%.

Claire Miller, Customade Group’s marketing manager, explains: “Despite the huge popularity of aluminium and the greater profit margins it brings, installers are still left frustrated by antiquated service levels and complex pricing models. We wanted to cut through these barriers and gather our installers to help them understand more about aluminium and how it can grow their businesses. The REAL Customer Day is all about boosting their confidence to move into aluminium and to see that it really doesn’t have to be difficult.

“We’ve had a fantastic response to the workshops and everyone who has attended – from sales teams to surveyors and fitters – has gone away with a far greater understanding of this invigorated supply chain. We’re absolutely delighted that these installers have increased their aluminium sales by an average of 281% - that achievement really is testimony to how easy REAL Aluminium is!”

More than 100 delegates - including seasoned aluminium installers and PVC-u installers who are new to aluminium - have already attended one of the customer days, which are held at Customade’s headquarters in Stonehouse, Gloucestershire.

Thom Emerson, owner of Ideal Window Solutions, attended a customer day along with his business partner in November. They switched to REAL Aluminium shortly after.

Thom said: The REAL Customer Day was very good indeed. It was professionally organised and very well attended. We gained a valuable insight into the aluminium production facility and were talked through all the sales and marketing support that’s on offer. The day gave us a high level of confidence in REAL Aluminium and we had no hesitation in signing up to it afterwards. We’ve already increased sales in aluminium and we’re certain that this will be a great year for us as demand for aluminium continues to rise rapidly.”

During the workshop, customers are treated to a tour around the purpose built 72,000 square foot factory which exclusively manufactures the REAL range of aluminium windows, bi-folding doors, sliding doors, French doors, residential doors, composite doors and lantern roofs. They also learn how they can increase their aluminium leads through effective traditional and digital marketing techniques and leave with a free set of marketing tools which includes corner samples, colour swatches and brochures.

REAL Aluminium was launched in 2016 as a step change for the industry. It eliminates the common drawbacks associated with the supply of aluminium and makes sourcing aluminium as easy as buying PVC-u. Customade exclusively manufactures the REAL range and holds more than 100 miles of aluminium extrusions in stock in four colours - white, grey (7016), black (9005) and dual grey on white. Lead times for REAL Aluminium are typically faster than average at just two weeks.
