SWISSPACER has launched a new triple glazing spacer bar at Glasstec

Leading spacer bar supplier SWISSPACER has launched a new spacer bar at Glasstec. SWISSPACER Triple is a rigid warm edge spacer bar designed specifically for triple glazing.

SWISSPACER Triple gives outstanding energy efficiency and eliminates the need for two single spacer bars. Its centre groove holds the middle pane of glass in place. This allows sealed unit makers to use slimmer 2mm or 3mm middle panes, reducing the overall weight of the sealed unit. Triple glazed units with SWISSPACER Triple are lighter, more durable and easier to install. Available in 25mm, 33mm and 37mm bars, SWISSPACER Triple offers the same excellent thermal performance as its flagship product, Ultimate.

SWISSPACER Triple only requires two layers of butyl seal, which reduces the risk of sealed unit failure caused by gas loss and moisture penetration. It also improves aesthetics with perfect parallel lines and eliminates the ‘wavy’ butyl line along the centre pane, which is common with traditional triple glazed units. SWISSPACER Triple can be processed by hand or on existing machinery for double glazed units. This makes it ideal for all sized sealed unit makers and for those who want to start producing triple glazed units.

SWISSPACER Triple has been used in ‘CLIMATOP EASY’, a new high performance triple glazed unit by Saint-Gobain Building Glass Europe. Thanks to SWISSPACER Triple, this innovative unit has an ultra-slim 2mm centre pane to reduce overall weight.

Formed in 1998 Swisspacer is part of Saint-Gobain Glass Solutions. The company has experienced massive growth in the UK over the past 2 years. Its no-investment needed price benefit has been a key advantage that has attracted sealed unit manufacturers and window fabricators and fuelled its growth.

The manufacturing and head office is in Switzerland and a second manufacturing facility is established in Germany. Swisspacer exactly matches the shape and dimensions of aluminium spacers, and being rigid and self supporting it handles in a similar way. And because there is no need to invest in expensive new machinery, it makes it very easy to get up and running with warm edge. Automated solutions are however available from Lisec, Saint-Gobain Seva and Rottler and Ruediger.

Independent tests conducted by IFT Rosenheim, the leading European independent fenestration research and test facility, showed that Swisspacer V had the best PSI values of all the other leading brands of spacer bar that were submitted for testing. Using Swisspacer thermal insulation (U-value) can be improved by up to 20%. Swisspacer V and Swisspacer perform very well in the Window Energy Rating Scheme.
