Sir Nigel Rudd visited window, door, conservatory and kitchen manufacturer Stevenswood as part of his tour in Scotland to see successful businesses in his role as BGF Chairman.
The Stevenswood team welcomed Sir Nigel Rudd to its HQ and factory in Livingston. “It was an inspirational visit,” said Ron Hepburn, Managing Director of top Scottish fabricator Stevenswood Ltd.
Sir Nigel Rudd is Chairman of the Business Growth Fund. He is best known for his extraordinary business successes with Williams Holdings PLC and Pendragon. His career has spanned almost five decades as he was the youngest ever qualified Chartered Accountant at just 20 years old.
Stevenswood has demonstrated extraordinary growth in the last 18 months backed by investment from BGF. The window and door manufacturing facility has doubled production and the number of trade counters has increased from six to 15. “The move to the new premises gave us the opportunity to expand production. Sir Nigel Rudd was shown around the factory and even tried his hand at finishing some window frames as he chatted to the team around him.”
The factory tour was followed by an in-depth question and answer session with the management team at Stevenswood. Ron added: “We were very fortunate to be included in Sir Nigel’s whirlwind tour in Scotland. He was interested in the manufacturing side if the business. We relish the opportunity to talk with successful business people and welcoming Sir Nigel to Stevenswood was a great honour.”
