As part of its ongoing commitment to invest in and grow the business, SafeGuard, the Peterborough based glass and glazing company celebrating 21 years in business, is delighted to welcome two new additions to the team. Mark Underwood joins as Operations Manager and Rob Page as Sales Manager.
Nick Welsh, Managing Director at SafeGuard explains: “In 2015 we invested £1.3m into our manufacturing operation and moved into new 28,000ft2 premises. Our facility now includes Forel and Lisec sealed unit lines (the former with Gas Press and Soft Solutions Quality Scanner), Cooltemper FireJet 2500 x 4200 toughening furnace, Hegla Optimax cutting line with Double Sided Loader, online laser marking and upgraded edge deletion and Hegla VSG33M laminated cutting table.
“On the back of this investment comes further opportunity to expand the team and we are delighted to have done so with two fantastic guys, both with tremendous amounts of knowledge and industry experience – which will really be of benefit to both SafeGuard and our customers.”
Mark comments: “I have been in the fenestration industry for over 20 years and during that time have undertaken roles within Operations, Quality, Environmental, Health and Safety and Procurement, so I come to SafeGuard with a wide variety of experience and a vast knowledge of suppliers, glass and other materials used in sealed unit manufacture. The role of Operations Manager at SafeGuard appealed to me because I knew of them as a business and was very aware of the fact they had built a good reputation on quality and excellence in everything that they do. Since joining the company, it’s clear the desire for customer satisfaction is at the heart of everything. Put simply, we always deliver on customer expectations.
“With my 20 years’ experience, I know I can bring a great deal of knowledge to the operation. The manufacturing team is small but has an extremely high level of commitment and experience. We plan for future growth and I am excited about being part of that journey.”
Rob adds: “What’s great about SafeGuard is the fact every individual really cares about customer satisfaction. The product offering is extremely vast, yet the attention to detail is something I’ve not experienced in any of my previous roles. I have worked in the fenestration industry for the past 23 years and started out on the shop floor, working my way through all areas of production. I then moved into more sales orientated roles and am really relishing the opportunity presented by SafeGuard. With so many strings to our bow and with a fantastic nucleus of satisfied customers, I am excited to get out into the market and spread the word about the SafeGuard offering. SafeGuard is a really nice business to be a part of and I am really looking forward to being part of its ongoing success.”
Nick concludes:” Although it’s still early days, both have already proven fantastic additions to the team and we look forward to working together to take the business on to the next level of growth.”
