George Clements, The Window Company (Contracts)’ award winning apprentice, is the latest member of the team to benefit from the company’s joined up approach to training.
He has just spent two days at the Norwich factory of leading fabricator Polyframe learning about how the frames which the company installs are manufactured.
It is George’s responsibility to check the frames as they are delivered into the company’s yard in Chelmsford, so increasing his understanding of the journey the frames go on from raw profile to finished window is obviously beneficial.
The course at Polyframe is part of George’s personal Continual Professional Development (CPD) programme, which also includes studying for an NVQ in fenestration.
The Window Company (Contracts), is committed to joined up training for all of its staff as it moves towards achieving a Kitemark for window installation. As well as investing in more than 76 individual training courses over the course of the past year, every staff member also has their own CPD programme, and partnerships are in place with key suppliers including Polyframe, Doorstop and REHAU to provide tailored training activities.
