National Plastics, the UK’s largest independent trade counter network has just got even bigger, with the company opening a new store in Plymouth.
The new depot continues an unprecedented period of growth for National Plastics. Managing Director, Geoff Foster says, “Our long-term plan is to grow to a network of over 50 depots by the end of 2017, ensuring there’s no UK area without convenient access to one of our trade counters. With the new Plymouth depot we’ve fortified our position in the South, further extending National Plastics’ values of superior quality products, great value and exemplary service throughout the area.”
The National Plastics business model has proved very successful. It has grown substantially in the past few years, even in the face of the recession, adding £10 million to its turnover in the last five years alone. Geoff comments, “Our growth is something we are very proud of. Some of it is thanks to acquisitions and opening new sites, but it’s mainly because we have increased sales to our customers by offering an ever-wider range of products, holding huge amounts of stock and being able to deliver, in many cases for free.”
National Plastics prides itself on understanding what the trade needs. Geoff Foster, says, “There are three core values that make National Plastics different. We offer the right products with the right quality – if we don’t sell it, you won’t need it. We also offer the right price – we strive to offer the best price in the area and offer trade discounts too. And we offer the right service – we’ve got over 25 years’ experience in the building plastics industry and we pride ourselves on a service that’s second to none.”
National Plastics is one of the industry’s big success stories thanks to a simple formula: give customers what they need. The new store based in Valley Road Industrial Estate, Plymouth will bring that service to even more people in the South.
