Emplas has come to the aid of Kettering General Hospital and the University of Leicester, donating windows and doors worth £15,000 as part of a campaign to refurbish a community hall.
The Revive the Rec Hall Appeal aims to raise £145,000 to renovate Kettering General Hospital’s Recreation Hall, used by staff and the local community.
The G15 Fabricator of the Year donated new windows and fire doors to support the refurbishment of the 50-year-old building, which had fallen into a state of disrepair.
Installed by T&K, Emplas’ retail arm, the new windows and doors complete the critical weather sealing of the building going into winter.
Ryan Johnson, Managing Director, Emplas said: “It was a great opportunity for Emplas and T&K to say thank you to the hospital staff from whom many of our own staff and customers have received excellent care over the years.
“Although in this instance we undertook the work as a charitable donation, the commercial sector represents a significant area of opportunity and potential business.
“Emplas offers a range of products, amongst them fire doors, which allow our customers to access the market. As a material type, PVC-U has particular appeal because it’s low maintenance, durable and easily cleaned.”
Emplas offers a comprehensive support programme to support its customers in accessing commercial opportunities including literature and support to negotiate regulatory requirements.
Appeal organisers and Kettering General Hospital Staff Governor, Fiona Barber, said: “We asked Emplas and T&K Home Improvements to give us a quote for the work and were absolutely delighted when they offered to do it for free because they felt it was such a good cause.
“We can’t thank them enough for supporting our Appeal and doing their bit for the local community.
