Letter to the Editor - security related compliance

Willie Kerr, Managing Director, Roseview Windows

Dear Ian,

We’ve had a lot of security related compliance queries recently, so we wanted to reassure customers that our three market leading sash windows – Ultimate Rose, Heritage Rose and Charisma Rose - are fully compliant with Part Q, Secured by Design and PAS24:2012.

In fact, we make one of if not THE biggest Secured by Design sash window in the industry, which measures a whopping 1400mm by 2400mm.

Approved Document Q took effect on 1 October 2015 and sets out reasonable standards for doors and windows to resist physical attack by a casual or opportunist burglar by being both sufficiently robust and fitted with appropriate hardware.

It applies to all new build projects, or properties subjected to “change of use” conditions. The revised PAS24 test does not affect sash windows so our customers have nothing to worry about - we passed the test several years ago, and held BS7950 Enhanced Security before that, so nothing has changed.

We would also like to point out that all our products are CE marked and ‘A’ Window Energy Rated as standard, meaning you can be confident you are offering your customers the very best in security, energy efficiency, quality and of course aesthetics.

We take accreditations very seriously, and our customers can be confident that when they buy from Roseview, they’re buying full compliance and quality as standard.

Best wishes

Willie Kerr,
Managing Director, Roseview Windows
