Pilkington Activ™ features strongly in the daily operation of Brackenwood, quality installer of PVCu doors, windows and conservatories. In fact, the product surrounds employees at the company’s headquarters in Basingstoke, as the elevations of the building all use Pilkington Activ™ self-cleaning glass, a testament to the company’s confidence in the product. “This is a clear indication of the value that we place in the self-cleaning glass. Installed nearly three years ago, it has lived up to its promise and we have had no need for cleaning,” comments MD, David Medcraft.
As a constantly evolving business, Brackenwood recently opened a new window, door and conservatory showroom, the culmination of many years of research and development into the concept. It was officially opened during an open weekend held at the headquarters in February, which proved to be a huge success with the company’s customers, both existing and new.
Pilkington supported the three-day event with its own stand in the showroom, displaying its range of glass and glazing products, which are used in Brackenwood’s manufacturing process. These include textured and K glass and the revolutionary Pilkington Activ™, which according to David Medcraft, is increasingly being specified by both trade and retail consumers. “We have seen a large increase in interest in Pilkington Activ™ and we are utilising it more and more in our product range,” he comments. “The properties of the glass are genuinely innovative and it is proving most convenient and cost effective to our customers.”
The open days brought a large number of visitors through the doors to see the extensive range of quality products for which Brackenwood is renowned. “We have been installing windows, doors and conservatories for 19 years,” continues Mr Medcraft. “We had fantastic support from all concerned and we are delighted with the result of this venture, which effectively launched our new showroom to the public.”
