Global leaders in warm edge technology, Technoform Glass Insulation (TGI®), will officially unveil its new warm edge spacer system to the UK market at the up-coming FIT Show in April.
This latest generation of spacer bar is now even easier and faster to process than the current generation, which itself was renowned for its easy processing. The new product will offer a host of benefits to IGU manufactures fabricators, installers and end users alike.
Simon Rawlins, Product Manager at TGI® GB and Ireland comments: “Like the existing TGI®- Spacer, the new generation will be manufactured using a combination of polypropylene and stainless steel but with added wires for enhanced rigidity – ensuring that the bar can be processed more efficiently on all factory floors and save IGU manufacturer’s time and money.”
Simon continues: “Being a bendable solution, moisture is less likely to penetrate the corners resulting in a longer unit life. This means less call outs for the installer and a better performing product for the homeowner. Having said this, the latest product is equally suitable for both cut & corner and bending production.”
The new spacer was developed at TGI®s innovation centre in Germany and was born out of listening to feedback on what customers from all over the globe want from a warm edge solution.
TGI® recently showcased the product at the Glasstec exhibition in October 2012 where the product was very well received.
Recognising that energy efficiency is a huge driver in the UK market, TGI® has also ensured that the new spacer solution offers a high level of thermal performance.
Simon comments further: “This new warm edge spacer solution will offer excellent thermal performance and will enable manufacturers to achieve low U-Values and Window Energy Rating. It is fully conversant with impending building regulations and we are excited about the potential that this solution has – it is forward thinking and in tune with what the future of the industry will bring.”
TGI®’s Global Managing Director, Petra Sommer, will be flying in for the show and will be on the stand alongside Product Managers Simon Rawlins and Andrew Jenner.
Petra comments: “The FIT Show is the ideal platform to officially launch our new warm edge system to the UK market and I am very much looking forward to meeting our existing customers as well as new and potential customers.”
