Certass Ltd, a Government approved Competent Persons Scheme has achieved the internationally recognised UKAS accreditation EN45011 for glazing product certification, establishing Certass as one of the industry leaders.
Certass was successfully selected for phase one of the Government’s new pilot scheme, Green Deal. Certass has been working diligently over the last few months to achieve UKAS accreditation and are extremely proud to be listed as one of the first companies appointed in the recent announcement made by UKAS.
Certass would like to thank Britannia Windows for allowing us to assess them against the Green Deal requirements and their commitment to meeting these requirements especially given these standards were newly published at that time.
EN45011 is the British Standard used by product certification schemes to measure the quality of their business procedures. In addition to meeting the high standards required by EN45011, Certass had to also meet the requirements exacted by both PAS2031 and the Department for Communities and Local Government new CPS licence terms. The scope of the accreditation granted to Certass is for Energy Efficient Glazing for Green Deal and the continued operation of our Competent Person scheme.
Jason Clemmit, Certass Certification Managing Director said, “We are particularly pleased to have achieved UKAS accreditation as it underlines our commitment to our customers and our focus on quality. This recognition demonstrates we provide a quality solution from start to finish. We now look forward to the Green Deal Oversight body, likely to be established this August, so we can start certifying installer companies for Green Deal approval.”
Our UKAS assessment took place over several days, including a review of all our administration and management systems, complaints procedures and inspection practices. Most importantly to us, a review assessing the quality of the Certass personnel involved in the certification process, ranging from the admin team to the site auditors, passed with flying colours.
Certass Ltd obtained a license in 2006 to operate a Government approved Competent Persons Scheme for replacement windows and doors. Certass has always had a customer led focus delivering good service at a cost effective price. Certass is one of the fastest growing Competent Persons Scheme operators with thousands of members using our systems.
