REHAU online calculator continues to impress

REHAU’s online U-Value and WER calculator has seen a 100% increase in the number of visitors over the past six months.

When the calculator at www.rehauanswers.com was launched in June 2011 it received just over 300 visits in its first month. By November, this had increased to more than 630 visits in a month, with almost 200 of these being returning users.

Dean Franklin, the REHAU Applications Engineer specialising in U-Value and Window Energy Ratings, believes that that the reason behind the popularity is its ease of use.

He says: “When I visit customers to demonstrate the calculator, they are really impressed by the amount of time and effort they can save. They simply click on the calculation type they require, enter in the information about their individual window or door system, frame and sash, reinforcement, glazing and spacer bar and they get a fast and, above all, accurate calculation.

“The interface is really user friendly and of course, it has the added bonus that it is provided by REHAU entirely free for users and is not password protected.”

That view has been endorsed by customers including Ian Hecken at GS Windows in Gosport who has been impressed by how simple the calculator is to use and how much benefit it is bringing to his business.

He says: “We use the calculator to provide indicative WER ratings for retail customers and print out the PDF of the calculation graphic showing whether a particular window achieves an A, B or C rating.

“We have been including personalised print outs in customer quotes and we have received a really positive response.

“For us, the calculator does exactly what we need and certainly saves us time compared with previous calculators we have used.”

On average, visitors to www.rehauanswers.com view 8 pages on the site, suggesting that the vast majority are using the calculator effectively and that the step by step process is proving easy to follow.

REHAU’s calculator has already been recognised by both CERTASS and FENSA as an accredited means of obtaining U-Values, and REHAU is in the process of obtaining similar accreditation for its Window Energy Ratings calculations.
