AMI launches focused expos for the American plastics industry

AMI has announced plans to hold three free-to-attend exhibitions focused on plastics compounding, extrusion and recycling in Cleveland, Ohio, USA on 8-9 May 2019.

The Compounding World Expo, Extrusion Expo and Plastics Recycling World Expo will be held in Halls B and C of the state-of-the-art Huntington Convention Center in downtown Cleveland. They will feature free-to-attend conference sessions, plus there will be a networking party for attendees and exhibitors at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on the evening of 8 May.

The events will follow on from AMI’s first Compounding World Expo and Plastics Recycling World Exhibition, which are taking place in Essen, Germany on 27-28 June 2018 and have attracted widespread industry support.

Andy Beevers, director of events at AMI, said: “We’ve been delighted by the very positive industry response to our first focused exhibitions that we are holding in Germany this June, and this has led to numerous requests for similar focused events in North America. We selected Cleveland as the ideal location for the exhibitions because of its easy accessibility for huge numbers of compounders, extruders and recyclers. In addition, the city boasts excellent convention facilities, hotels, restaurants and entertainment options in its revitalized downtown”.

Large numbers of leading industry players have already reserved booths for the Cleveland event, including Aaron Equipment. Aesse, B&P Littleford, Baerlocher, Bausano, Bandera, Brabender Technologie, Britas, Cathay Industries, Chemours, CPM Extrusion Group, Dr. Collin, Doteco, Econ, Entek, Entex, Ferro, Fortune International Technology, FP-Pigments, Intertek, JSW, Kaneka, Leistritz, M Holland, Mixaco, Modern Dispersions (MDI), NFM, OCSiAl, Omya, Perry Videx, Piovan, Polyfil, Shamrock, Sikora, Toyota Tsusho, TPEI, Vertellus, Welset, Zeppelin and Zoltek.

“The reaction to our announcement to hold a free-to-attend compounding exhibition in the USA has been incredible,” said Kelly DeFino, events team manager at AMI’s US offices. “We already have a broad selection of suppliers of polymers, additives and processing equipment on the expo floorplan with lots of interest in the remaining booths and new names being added on a weekly basis.”
