Lister Trade Frames are the recognised name in Stoke on Trent as the manufacturer of the high quality Elitis Branded Halo window system. Starting from humble beginnings Listers over the last 35 years have built a reputation based on trust, quality and excellent customer service that has seen them outlast many of their competitors.

Part of their success has been due to their builders trade counter which has served the trade and DIY for decades. In 2009 the decision was made to move from their long standing home on Leek Road to much larger premises on the Fenton Industrial Estate. The necessity to move to the larger property was the ever increasing demand for their plastics and roofing products. In fact, Listers “TheBIGTradeCounter” is now the largest independent plastics trade counter in Staffordshire.

Wayne Tracey, TheBIGTradeCounter manager, said that “Moving an entire operation from one site to another obviously came with problems, but having all that extra space for our stock and three times the loading area for customers meant we could provide an even better service.”

Since 2006 Listers re-branded “BigTradeCounter” has seen a marked increase in both Trade and DIY and with its ever expanding product range, has managed to stay ahead of the competition in both product availability and customer service.

At the beginning of March this year it was noted that TheBigTradeCounter was due to hit a major milestone, their 100,000th transaction since the big move. Not needing an excuse for a celebration, Listers planned a secret prize giveaway for the lucky 100,000th customer.

At exactly 8.22am on the 29th of March 2012, John Haynes of Aspect Windows walked into the counter like most mornings. Only this time he was greeted with a crate of champagne, fireworks, (of sorts) and all of the counter staff applauding.

John said, “I’ve been coming to the Big Trade Counter for years, but I can honestly say I’ve never been handed six bottles of champagne before! I’m delighted to be the 100,000th transaction and I’ll certainly enjoy my prize.”

“We’re really chuffed for John,” said Phil Warren Listers Sales Director, “he’s been a loyal customer for many years so it’s fitting that he was the winner of the prize.”

With an ethos based on fantastic customer service, great prices and a vast array of stock, it’s no wonder that the Big Trade Counter has continued to go from strength to strength. All the staff are now gearing up for their 200,000th transaction, and they believe that with the growth they are now enjoying it is going to come around a lot faster than the 100,000th!.
